Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Produce Manager to oversee the daily operations of our produce department. The Produce Manager will also be responsible for training and supervising staff while maintaining a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Duties
- Manage the overall operations of the produce department, ensuring quality and freshness of all products.
- Oversee inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stocking produce items.
- Train and orient new employees on departmental procedures and customer service expectations.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with inquiries and product selections.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce area to meet health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with upper management to develop promotional strategies for seasonal produce items.
- Utilize POS systems for transactions and track sales performance.
- Supervise staff schedules, payroll processing, and time management to ensure efficient department functioning.
- Address any employee issues or concerns in a timely manner while fostering a positive team environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management or as an assistant manager, preferably in a grocery or produce setting.
- Strong skills in customer service with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele.
- Knowledge of inventory control practices and experience managing stock levels.
