We are looking for a freelance Licensing Coordinator for a top fashion company in New York, NY! This role specializes in the Graphics business, inclusive of Apparel and Accessories, across both genders and Brands. The Licensing Coordinator acts as the expert on internal and external brand standards and legal requirements, ensuring all licensed products meet both licensor and brand design and quality expectations. This position maintains clear communication between licensors and a wide range of brand cross-functional partners across Design, Merchandising, Production, and Marketing to facilitate the approval processes of our licensed products and seeks efficiencies and opportunities to grow our relationships strategically.
Responsibilities:
- Own product approval process and communication, ensuring internal and external creative needs are communicated, met, and executed on time to hit floorset deadlines and address business needs.
- Identify opportunities to streamline the product approval process and improve transparency and communication with internal teams to ensure the needs of the business are met.
- Forge relationships with strategic partners in relevant products categories.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders of the Licensing business to better understand priorities and areas of improvement.
- Educate and influence teams on licensing opportunities and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, meaning that some work may be performed remotely but certain essential functions must be performed in-person/in-office based on the needs of the business.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
- 2 years of experience in retail, business development, or product design
- Relationships and experience within the licensing Industry a plus
- Ability to successfully build relationships with team members across diverse lines of businesses
- Highly developed organizational skills and impressive attention to detail with ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
- Forward-thinking and innovative – ready to try new ways of doing things in order to improve.
- Loves product, graphics, and pop culture and understands ‘fan mentality’
- Proficient in MS office and Google suite of tools.
- Strong communication presentation skills
