Senior Human Resources Advisor (on-site/local candidates only)
SolomonEdwards is immediately seeking a Senior Human Resources Advisor on a temp/contract basis for a company located in West Deptford, NJ. Qualified candidates are required to have a mix of union, employment law, and employee relations experience and candidates without recent experience in these specific areas will not be considered.
The Senior Human Resources Advisor is responsible for administering and advising regional businesses on the company’s HR practices, policies, and procedures, inclusive of providing coaching and advice to employees and line managers locally. The Senior HR Advisor acts as the escalation point for queries which cannot be resolved by the HR Hub Team either due to the complex nature of the query or because of the need for local presence. This position will work collaboratively with HR Business Partners and the HR Hub Team to achieve strategic business objectives, including supporting performance management, talent management planning, employee engagement and employee relations.
Responsibilities of the Senior Human Resources Advisor:
- Resolve queries escalated from the hub advisory team which include employee relations support, grievances and disciplinary action, performance improvement, complex compensation and pay issues, complex absence issues, drug and alcohol testing and termination.
- Partner with the HR Hub to provide ongoing transfer of knowledge on specific policies and legislation.
- Partner with business leaders and HR COE’s to support the implementation of HR programs, policies, and procedures in support of company’s HR goals.
- Work with HRBPs and managers on specific projects (e.g. organization design/restructuring, workforce planning, talent activities).
- Build and maintain effective relationships across the organization, working closely with business leaders and people managers to ensure they are maximizing the support from the HR Hub.
- Provide feedback to the HR Hub team from local managers and employees to ensure continuous service delivery improvements.
- Responsible for New Employee Onboarding sessions and process I-9 as per local regulations and requirements.
- Have knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) to be able to support our Union population where applicable.
Requirements of the Senior Human Resources Advisor:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Minimum 3 plus years in HR, with a focus on union, employment laws and employee relations
- Recent union, employment law and employee relations experience is a must.
- Proficient in Workday and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple ongoing issues and priorities
Additional Details:
Salary Rate: $50hr
Employment Type: Temp/Contract (6 plus months)
Location: West Deptford, NJ 08066 (Fully working on-site)
Work Hours: Monday–Friday 8am to 4:30pm
The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, location and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
