The general schedule for this position after training is complete is Monday to Friday 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
*Please note that a person in this role may have to work outside of regularly scheduled hours depending on the organization's needs.
Wage: $17.50/hr. (Sign-On Bonus Eligible Paid Lunch)
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for ensuring that the glue machine is kept running consistently to ensure quality issues are minimized. This position is responsible for stripping loads, sorting defects and quality assurance. An incumbent in this position performs duties such as: feeding, load stripping and sorting, and handpack/assembly.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Please note that this list is ILLUSTRATIVE only and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed by an incumbent in this role. Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Keep glue machine running; prepare loads for the production run using jackhammer. Ensure all loads are loaded properly. Ensure all loads for a job are run and not missed. Review sheeting department run checklist to verify.
- Stage jobs to be run, ensure item numbers, job numbers and specification numbers are correct with order numbers. Check for sort tags or defects on loads from print or cutting department.
- Assist Glue Operator as needed; ensure understanding of direction from the glue operator.
- Load feed-load die position when possible.
- Strip down loads ahead of time, be ready to run once the machines is set-up.
- Inform crew of sample area to assist with proper color match; schedule maintenance time with operator and supervisor.
- Clean up area after a job is completed; pick up scrap, change out scrap cart if running different board, plackard accordingly.
- Ensures and maintains safe and healthful working conditions while enforcing safety rules and regulations
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance; must be able to work overtime when department and/or company needs arise and/or be on call as directed by managements.
- Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with company policies, practices and values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Broad training in a related professional field that provides the knowledge, skills, education and/or work-related experience.
Six months experience feeding the glue machine (preferred); experience working in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
