Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial activities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and nonprofit regulations.
- Ensure proper allocation of revenue and expenses in accordance with grant, funding, and program restrictions.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Prepare and manage the annual operating budget.
- Work closely with program directors and senior leadership to create departmental budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance against the budget, providing regular reports to management and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Generate ad-hoc financial reports to support decision-making by senior management and the board.
- Coordinate the preparation of financial reports for funders, auditors, and regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including those related to nonprofit financial reporting and tax filing.
- Coordinate the annual audit process and work closely with external auditors.
- Grant Management:
- Oversee the financial aspects of grant management, including tracking restricted funds, preparing financial reports for funders, and ensuring compliance with grant terms.
- Ensure the accurate reporting of expenses and the timely submission of financial reports required by funders.
- Cash Flow and Investment Management:
- Manage cash flow to ensure the organization has adequate resources to meet its obligations.
- Oversee banking relationships and investment activities.
- Staff Supervision:
- Supervise and mentor the finance team, providing training and development opportunities.
- Ensure efficient workflows and compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Strategic Support:

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

- Certifications: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
- Experience with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Compensation: $115,000 to $130,000 annually
