Human Resources Manager
NW Iowa
This position will work with all Sonstegard Foods employees. Responsible for performing human resource functions with all levels of employees. Also, responsible for compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal policies, laws and regulations. Reports directly to Director of Human Resources at corporate office in Sioux Falls, SD.
Essential Job Duties
- Maintain and implement Human Resource programs, policies, and practices.
- Manage recruitment and maintaining head count.
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation, including entering new hires into E-Verify.
- Ensure compensation and benefits are in line with company policies and legislation.
- Complete bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Handle employee complaints, grievances, and disputes.
- Administer employee discipline process.
- Review and update employee rules and regulations.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirement and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions.
- In conjunction with operational leaders develop and administer formal training programs.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred
- 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Human Resources.
Qualifications
- Proficient with basic computer programs.
- Bilingual English/Spanish highly desired
- Good organization skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work independently.
- Able to maintain objectivity and confidentiality.
- Manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Follow and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and safety requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Ability to climb stairs in plant and offices.
