Description
Sorenson Communications is providing an internship as a Help Desk Tech. You will have an opportunity to work with a team where your experience and training will be leveraged. A manager will guide, mentor, and teach you some of the critical elements of your chosen career pathway. You will establish learning objectives that you will pursue as part of your work at Sorenson.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs all tasks related to monitoring of Sorenson production systems for 24x7 operation.
- Provides general IT assistance to employees.
- Performs password resets (and other tasks as assigned) for employees.
- Provides monitoring and front line support for Sorenson Branded production systems.
- Escalates issues to appropriate support teams for resolution.
- Adheres to IT Operations policies, procedures and standards.
- Maintains confidentiality of company and customer data.
- Maintains ticketing SLA’s and is able to provide service or escalate within SLA window
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Must manage time effectively.
- Must be detail oriented and provide accurate documentation.
- Must be able to work effectively in a high-stress environment.
- Must be process oriented and highly organized.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively plan and organize appointments and meet reporting deadlines.
- Must be able to type a minimum of 45 wpm.
- Must have intermediate understanding of Microsoft products, such as Word, Excel, OneNote, OneDrive. Etc.
Experience/Education/Additional Info
Education: Certifications, Technical College, Trade School or currently attending college or recently graduated.
Duration: up to 6 months
Office Environment: Onsite in Salt Lake City Utah Required
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Punctual and reliable attendance.
- Ability to sit and/or stand at a desk and work with a computer for extended periods of time.
- Positive attitude, team player, good interpersonal communication skills and able to work across company departments.
