Job Summary:
The HR Generalist will oversee daily HR functions, including orientation, compensation, report generation, and enforcement of company policies and practices. This position will perform professional-level human resources work across various functional areas, such as staffing, employee relations, compensation, training, employment, labor relations, safety, and resolving employment-related issues.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily workflow of the HR department across various branches and manage HR-related administrative tasks.
- Assess company policies, programs, and procedures, and provide guidance to employees and management on their interpretation.
- May have lead or professional responsibilities over lower-level support and clerical personnel.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Talent Acquisition Department to facilitate the timely hiring of qualified candidates for open positions.
- Advise supervisors and managers on effective methods and approaches to resolve employee work issues.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including information on job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and more.
- Supervise new hire training and conduct new hire orientation sessions.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer HR programs such as DayForce maintenance, leaves, terminations, discipline, exit interviews, and uniform inventory.
- Assist with the administration of employee records in DayForce, including changes related to benefits, taxes, addresses, and more.
- Handle employee disputes and investigations with oversight from the District HR Manager (DHRM).
- Ensure compliance with HR audit requirements and obtain a passing score.
- Handle complex and sensitive employee inquiries.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Participate in unemployment documentation and hearings.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the District HR Manager.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or
- 3-5 years of HR experience and proven proficiency in HR functions.
- PHR certification is a plus.
