Job Overview:
Optometric Technician assists the Optometrist with the vision correction of patients. The Optometric Technician will help with eye examinations, perform clerical duties, maintain, and clean the examination equipment. To be a successful Optometric Technician, you should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. You should be detail oriented, meticulous, and keen with ocular equipment.

Duties:

  • Assisting with patient care and eye examinations.
  • Taking complete ocular history and medical history
  • Educating patients on the purpose of all tests being performed
  • Handling clerical duties.
  • Maintain flow of the clinic in a timely manner
  • Ensuring daily cleaning of rooms along with inventory with necessary supplies
  • Provide contact lens education to patients.
  • Helps optometrist with the care of patients and acts as a clinical assistant.
  • Must comply with HIPPA requirements.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Optometric Certification (Preferred not required)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work under pressure.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
