payroll clerk is responsible for processing employee paychecks by collecting timekeeping data, calculating wages, deducting taxes and other withholdings, issuing paychecks or direct deposits, maintaining accurate payroll records, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, all while addressing employee inquiries regarding their pay and deductions; essentially they manage the entire payroll process to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. Candidate will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
Key responsibilities of a payroll clerk may include :
Collecting and verifying timekeeping data : Gathering employee timesheets, verifying hours worked, and identifying any discrepancies.
Calculating payroll : Computing gross earnings, calculating federal and state income taxes, social security deductions, and other withholdings.
