Summer Assistant Group Lead

Assist in all aspects of the operation of the Center. This is a 7-week summer position.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and implementing program goals and objectives.

• Develop strong positive relationships with each child.

• Help plan and supervise daily activities, special projects, and field trips.

• Work directly with children individually and in groups.

• Assist in maintaining behavioral limits and classroom order.

• Assist in food preparation.

• Assist in keeping Center clean and organized.

• Greet parents and share children’s interests and activities, refer parent concerns to Center Director.

• Attend and participate in staff meetings and appropriate training.

• All other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Currently attending high school, must be at least 16 years old.

• Experience working with children in formal and informal settings.

• Willing to work a flexible schedule including full days during school vacations.

• High energy, warm and nurturing personality.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Reports to: Center Director

* All South Shore Stars employees should be able to lift at least 40 lbs. and work in a non-sedentary environment.
