GENERAL DESCRIPTION
As a member of the South Shore Stars teaching team, the Teacher Assistant helps ensure that each child's developmental needs are met.
The Teacher Assistant will substitute for Preschool Center Staff and provide classroom support and assistance as needed. This position will be a Floating Teacher's Assistant, and travel between our Weymouth, Randolph and Quincy Preschools, so you must have reliable transportation to go between these sites. This full-time position will be primarily covering vacations, time off and leaves of absences in our preschool and early childhood centers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work a flexible schedule to meet staffing requirements of the Center.
- Participate in implementing curriculum and classroom activities.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining classroom environment, equipment, and materials.
- Monitor children's activities individually and in groups.
- Confer with other center staff regarding educational and social progress.
- Attend staff, team, and curriculum meetings, training and supervision as required.
- Help organize and attend Center parent meetings and other Center events.
- Refer concerns expressed by parents to appropriate teacher and share observations regarding parent-child interactions.
- Prepare breakfast and snacks.
- All other assigned duties.
