Description
South West Plumbing, Heating, Air and Electric is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee and manage the complete payroll process for our team of 280 employees at a fast growing company. This role is for someone who has deep expertise in payroll processing and a proven track record of leadership and process improvement. As the Payroll Manager , you will ensure that payroll is processed accurately and efficiently while also helping to drive improvements in payroll procedures and compliance. What you'll do :
Manage Payroll Processing : Oversee the full payroll process for 280 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness every week.Team Collaboration : Work closely with the HR team and operational managers to ensure payroll is processed efficiently and resolve any issues that arise.Payroll Systems Optimization : Identify opportunities for process improvement and streamline payroll systems for greater efficiency and accuracy.Reporting & Audits : Provide in-depth reporting on payroll data, commissions, bonuses, and deductions. Ensure accuracy in compliance audits and quarterly benefits reviews.Onboarding & Offboarding Oversight : Ensure that payroll for new hires, terminations, and changes are processed smoothly and accurately.Leadership : Lead the payroll process and ensure best practices are followed in payroll processing.Ad-Hoc Reporting : Support upper management with special payroll-related reports as needed.Compliance & Legal Adherence : Ensure payroll is processed in full compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies.What you'll bring :
Experience :At least 3 years of experience in payroll management or a senior-level payroll processing role.
Experience managing or overseeing payroll processes for a mid-sized to large organization.Technical Skills :Advanced proficiency with Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP) for managing payroll data and reporting.
Experience with payroll software (ServiceTitan, Paylocity, or similar).Strong working knowledge of labor laws, payroll compliance, and tax regulations.Familiarity with accounting and bookkeeping is a plus.Key Attributes :Leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor payroll team members.

Requirements
Associates Degree (Preferred but not required)At least two (2) years of payroll processingAt least two (2) years of Accounting / Bookkeeping or related experienceAbility to work through internal and external project issues in a timely mannerTechnically competent and proficient with software programs : Excel, Word, Outlook, Payroll processing software, etc.Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and payroll processing softwareStrong written and oral communication skills : In-person meetings, E-mail & Phone callsFast Paced Multi-TaskerExperience in Paylocity (Preferred but not required)Strong Attention to DetailsStrong work ethicAbility to follow through with tasks and complete them on time.Works well under pressure.High level of integrity and trustworthinessSouth West Plumbing is an equal opportunity employer.
