Responsibilities
- Supports all aspects of the Human Resources function at Southall, including Team Member selection, onboarding, benefits administration, standards development, training, employee relations and compliance.
- Serves as the primary contact for Team Member concerns, questions and conflict resolution.
- Oversees workplace investigations and corrective action procedures.
- Administers Team Member benefits, leaves of absence and workers’ compensation.
- Trains and coaches property leaders on People & Culture Southall Operating Criteria (SOC).
- Ensures proper use and integration of all Human Resources Information Systems, investigating and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- In collaboration with the Director of People & Culture, designs and implements effective retention strategies to include engagement initiatives, company-wide communications, recognition programs, stay and exit interviews.
- Integrates Southall Values, LEARN with Humility, PLAN with Purpose and ACT with Intention, into all processes and interactions with Team Members.
- Maintains detailed and accurate documentation for Team Member files.
- Provides technical support to Team Members regarding electronic paperwork, online enrollments, platform self-service, training, surveys and e-communication tools.
- Escalates pressing concerns and trends to Director of People & Culture.
- Performs other duties as assigned by People & Culture Leadership.
- Extensive experience serving in a dynamic human resources management or generalist capacity.
- Hospitality background and mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) administration; experience in ADP preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred; four years of related experience and / or training accepted.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds with frequent lifting and or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds; requires walking and or standing to a significant degree.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
