Community Education Program Assistant

Position Summary: The Early Childhood Sibling Care Educational Assistant provides support to the Early Childhood Program in the operation of a quality sibling care experience for participating families. This position has additional hours available to support the School Age Care program and youth enrichment classes/events.

Position Requirements: A high school diploma. Current first aid and CPR certification required. Successful experience working with children in a child care environment. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

Language Skills: Read, write, and comprehend, and interpret verbal and written information, including instructions, correspondences, and memos. Present information in one-to-one and small group situations.

Physical Demands: Mobility and ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Hearing, speech, and sight are required. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Other Skills & Abilities: Provide a variety of suggestions in working with students in the Sib Care setting. Ability to build and maintain relationships with adults and children; good organizational skills. Maintain flexibility in day to day dealing with staff and students. Maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding students. Perform duties within a tight daily schedule and with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

Schedule:
This is a temporary position 3/5/25 - 6/6/25
Monday through Thursday from 8:15 - 12:00 Noon. Additional hours available with School Age Care Program from 2:15-4:30 on an as needed basis. This position will also have the opportunity to interact with youth enrichment activities and community events planned for Owatonna youth.

Rate of Pay:
A-1-3 // $16.32 - $19.69/hour depending on experience
