What are the responsibilities and job description for the Connections Associate - Blankenbaker Campus position at Southeast Christian Church?

The Connections Associate is responsible for guiding adults who attend the Blankenbaker Campus to take the next step in their connection to Jesus. They equip group leaders and connect with first time visitors.
What We Are Looking For:
- You have a thorough understanding of Biblical disciple-making and the ability to communicate it to others.
- You’re highly relational with strong people skills and the ability to inspire people toward action.
- You are passionate about shepherding, recruiting, training, and empowering volunteers.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Cast vision for groups at our Blankenbaker campus, with an emphasis on caring for one another, growing as disciples, and living missionally together.
- Create processes for identifying and onboarding new home group leaders.
- Create processes for ongoing training and coaching for existing home group leaders.
- Oversee planning and implementation of “Rooted” classes (10 week class designed for new believers).
- Provide one-at-a-time follow up for first time guests and people seeking next steps of faith.
- Provide assistance in our engagement pathway classes (Starting Point and Membership) in collaboration with Connections team.
- Provide pastoral support: hospital visitation, baptisms, weddings, funerals, Minister on Call and more.
Our Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required; degree in Bible, Ministry, or Christian Education preferred.
- 3 years ministry experience in a church setting.
- Ordained pastor or willing to become ordained.
- The ability to explain doctrinal issues and answer questions in a biblical and understandable manner.
- Strong work ethic and a team player who interacts well with staff, members, and guests.
- Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church, or willing to become one
