What are the responsibilities and job description for the Connections Associate Community Engagement - Blankenbaker Campus position at Southeast Christian Church?
The Connections Associate will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of service and outreach within our church. This position will focus on mobilizing groups to actively engage with their neighborhoods, schools, and local/global mission partners.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Develop and implement strategies to encourage groups to serve in their neighborhoods, schools, and local mission partners.
- Train and equip group leaders with resources and tools for effective community engagement.
- Foster ongoing relationships between groups and local mission partners.
- In collaboration with Missions team, provide opportunities for short-term mission trips.
- Collaborate with Blankenbaker benevolence team to oversee process of receiving, evaluating, and responding to benevolence requests at our campus.
- Oversee planning and implementation of “Unleashed” classes (5-6 week class designed to discover your spiritual gifts, ways to serve, etc.)
- Provide one-at-a-time follow up for first time guests and people seeking next steps of faith.
- Provide oversight for our Weekend Groups and Ministers-on-call.
- Provide pastoral support: hospital visitation, baptisms, weddings, funerals, Minister on Call and more.
Our Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required; degree in Bible, Ministry, or Christian Education preferred.
- 3 years ministry experience in a church setting.
- Ordained pastor or willing to become ordained.
- The ability to explain doctrinal issues and answer questions in a biblical and understandable manner.
- Strong work ethic and a team player who interacts well with staff, members, and guests.
- Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church, or willing to become one
