Position Overview:
The Field Engineer provides oversight and project support by monitoring and reporting standards of production, quality, schedule, and customer contract compliance, to include traceability and as-built drawings.
Essential Functions:
• Participate in pre-bid and pre-construction process; attend customer and internal meetings; provide pre-con support as required
• Ensure customer contract compliance, including collecting traceability information and preparing as-build’s
• Provide field daily reports capturing quality and data for as-builds. Capture possible out of scope work, related to design and obstacles team encounters.
• Assist with material procurement; review and monitor project material accountability
• Balance jobs at completion ensuring accurate final billing requirements, materials accountability, and any other contract requirements
• Assist the superintendent as needed in the field.
Qualifications:
Education
High School Diploma or technical school training in drafting, engineering, and/or project management. PMP certification a plus.
Experience
Preferred: 2 years of construction experience, preferably in the natural gas industry. Ability to read and understand utility construction drawings. Demonstrated knowledge of successful project management practices. Able to work and communicate effectively in written form, e-mail, or in person with all levels of the company. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. Possess moderate MS Excel and MS Word skills. Manages own workload effectively and efficiently; sets priorities, shifts priorities and adapts to rapid changes in priorities. Able to support a dynamic project environment with time-driven deadlines. Must be detailed orientated and be able to multi-task accurately meeting deadlines. Microsoft Project proficiency a plus.
