Become an Ethics Investigator, Advisor at Edison International. In this role, you will be responsible for independently conducting a broad spectrum of concurrent investigations including employee misconduct, fraud, regulatory compliance, root cause analysis, harassment, discrimination, conflicts of interest and retaliation. You will review and prioritize cases based on the significance of the underlying facts; lead strategy for case planning and effectively resource plan; address risk factors in conducting investigations; identify trends and potential remedial measures; provide status updates regarding the progress of the investigation to the Reporting Party, Subject(s), senior management and executive leadership; and when appropriate, coordinate investigations with Human Resources, Audits, Corporate Security and the Law Department.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
- You will use the Ethics Office’s Investigation procedures when conducting investigations and ensure that all steps are documented into the case file.
- Independently conduct concurrent investigations. Determine the scope of the investigation, identify applicable Code and policies and identify individuals to interview. Conduct privileged investigations, keeping the Director of Helpline and Investigations, and the Chief Ethics Compliance Officer updated on significant matters and make any relevant presentations to executives and officers.
- Interview witnesses such as the reporting party, witnesses and subject(s), and analyze and review the pertinent documents and forensic data and gather relevant facts. Request and analyze potential evidentiary data such as, but not limited to, computer forensics (i.e., email, web history, Teams messages), badge swipe activity, and timesheet data.
- Draft well written and comprehensive reports that contain the factual support for any conclusions reached. The reports should be fair and objective in the application of the facts to the relevant sections of the Code and Company policies. Determine which (if any) evidentiary documentation should be attached to the report of investigation.
- Collaborate with various organizational units as needed such as Human Resources, Corporate Security, Disability Management and Worker’s Compensation to address any issues or concerns and to maintain a good working relationship.
- Analyze information developed from multiple investigations to identify trends and patterns. Collaborate with Compliance and management to identify any potential remedial measures and root causes.
- Participate on cross-functional teams and special projects.
- Conduct work environment assessments for Human Resources as needed.
- Travel throughout Southern California Edison territory on a regular basis.

The essentials
- Seven (7) or more years of experience investigating, evaluating, negotiating and/or resolving claims for or against a company (e.g., performing HR investigations, conducting root cause analyses, conducting internal employee investigations, conducting investigative audits, or investigating violations)
The preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, Public Administration, Criminal Justice or a related field.
- Law degree from an accredited law school.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Law license; Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP); Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) Certificate.
- Four (4) or more years of experience in Audit Services, Federal or state law enforcement, Claims investigations, Human Resources Employee Representative or Labor Representative, or practicing Attorney in Labor & Employment or Former Prosecutor.

- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

Testing
This position may require testing and applicants who are identified to move forward in the selection process to interview, may have a hands-on Ethics Investigator Performance Exercise, consisting of a recorded mock investigative interview. Additionally, a writing sample may be requested at time of interview as part of the selection process.
