Incorporated in 1992, Southern Hens is a fully integrated poultry processing company engaged in the processing and distribution of fresh, frozen and canned RTE poultry products. Southern Hens operates three plants at its’ headquarters in Moselle, MS and employees 900 team members. Primary Duties:
- Maintaining payroll information by collating, calculating, and entering data.
- Complete payroll for hourly employees.
- Enter/verify employee hours.
- Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits, such as job title changes, exemptions, and saving deductions.
- Calculating payroll liabilities by determining employee taxes, including federal and state.
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries.
- Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures.
- Preparing reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave, and non-taxable wages.
- Enter garnishments & respond to garnishment notices.
- Calculate/verify incentive bonuses.
- Process checks.
- Processing and issuing W-2 forms to employees
- Reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
- Performs other functions assigned by management, as needed.
Educational Qualifications:
- 2 years’ experience in an accounting-related position
- Able to communicate and constructively work with cross-functional managers/supervisors
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
