Description
The School of Engineering at the University seeks a dedicated and dynamic Academic Advisor to guide students in achieving their academic goals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student success, providing comprehensive academic advising, supporting student retention and recruitment initiatives, and collaborating with various campus resources.
Key Responsibilities :
- Academic Advising :
Meet with current and prospective students to deliver accurate and up-to-date information on undergraduate curricula and program requirements.
Provide assistance to students experiencing academic difficulties by offering strategies for improvement and connecting them to relevant resources.
Actively participate in retention and recruitment activities, including high school visits, community college outreach, career fairs, and on-campus events such as Engineering Explore Day and Transfer Visit Days.
Maintain accurate computerized and in-office student records, ensuring compliance with university policies.
Keep students informed about curriculum changes, important academic dates, and deadlines.
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of advising practices and policies.
