A Rigger is responsible for the installation and removal of rigging equipment on construction sites. They ensure that all rigging activities are conducted safely and efficiently, while also ensuring that all workers are properly trained and equipped. This role requires excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as a comprehensive understanding of rigging techniques and safety procedures.
**Responsibilities: **
- Plan and coordinate rigging and lifting operations.
- Supervise the rigging crew and ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations.
- Conduct site visits to assess rigging requirements and provide recommendations to the project team.
- Ensure proper maintenance and inspection of rigging equipment and lifting gear.
- Prepare and review rigging plans, ensuring they are executed safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure rigging operations align with project timelines and objectives.
- Conduct training sessions for the rigging crew to keep them informed about industry best practices and safety standards.
- Manage rigging inventory and procure new equipment as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings related to rigging operations.
- Experience in supervising and leading a team of riggers and crane operators.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and best practices in rigging operations.
- Proficiency in using rigging equipment such as slings, shackles, and hoists.
- Strong communication skills for effective liaison with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to plan and schedule rigging operations, considering factors such as load capacity and weight distribution.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to quickly identify and address issues that may arise during rigging operations.
- Familiarity with software tools such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Project for creating rigging plans and schedules.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $27.50 - $29.00 per hour
