Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional service as an integral part of the front office team of our private pediatrics practice. This role requires a blend of time management skills and patient-focused service to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for all visitors.
- Previous experience in a medical or customer service setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in typing and working with computers.
- Strong phone etiquette and excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Must demonstrate a willingness to learn, professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to patient care.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with efficient check-in and check-out procedures.
- Manage phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries.
- Maintain accurate patient records using the practice's electronic medical record and practice management system.
- Process patient information and ensure all documentation is completed accurately.
- Help with insurance verification as needed.
- Ensure the front office area is organized, clean, and welcoming for patients.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
