What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at Southern Utah Ear Nose and Throat?
Looking for a full-time receptionist for our medical practice in St George. Hours are Monday-Friday from 8am - 5pm. Position will include health insurance, PTO and paid holidays. Compensation will be competitive.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments for patients
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or fees
- Maintain patient records and update information as needed
- Provide administrative support to medical staff, including faxing, filing, and data entry
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Assist with medical scheduling and coordination of patient referrals
- Collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure smooth patient flow
- Handle front desk duties such as managing incoming and outgoing mail
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical receptionist or administrative role preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- Proficient in using electronic medical record systems (e.g., Epic)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
