As an Intern, you can expect to:
Join Southwest as a Summer 2024 Intern, with a 12-week internship lasting from May 21 to August 9, 2024
Work onsite at our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX
Workplace flexibility for 50% of the time is typically available, but interns are expected to be onsite for Intern-related events
Dedicate 40 hours each week to your internship responsibilities and tasks
Receive hourly pay of $22 and receive a one-time $1,000 stipend on your first paycheck
Receive free, unlimited space available travel privileges for yourself (taxes and fees may apply on international travel)
Interns will be provided any required equipment, such as a laptop, for the internship

HR Strategy and Implementation Intern:
Internship opportunity to work with the People, Learning and Development (PLD) Strategy Team that supports PLD Strategic Projects, Governance, Planning, Comms and Engagement, and Data Analytics. Each opportunity will present a change to support and learn more about all 4 Departments existing within PLD: Total Rewards, People, SWA University, and Talent & Leadership Development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Senior Consultants on creating strategic solutions, managing projects, and delivery of implementation plans
Support customer workshops and delivery of working meetings for strategic projects
Support data analytics team in reviewing dashboards and data clean-up
Support and own specific projects within the comms and engagement team throughout the year based on a preset communications and culture plan
Own governance calendars and portfolios as they are changing and shifting based on priorities
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
You must have a valid U.S. Social Security Number to complete the full hiring process
Education:
Progress towards a degree in HR Management, Training Development, Learning Technology, Organizational Development, Mathematics, Business, Project Management, Human Capital Management, Management Consulting, Strategic Projects, Organizational design, Organizational Effectiveness, or related degree
Minimum Sophomore status. May not have an undergraduate graduation date of May 2024 orprior, unless already enrolled in a full-time graduate degree program at time of application
To be eligible you must be currently enrolled as a full-time student as defined by your university
at the time of application
Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application
Experience:
Involvement in campus organizations, clubs, or extracurricular activities is preferred
Working knowledge of training, communications, human resources, or operations preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with a diverse Employee population
Excellent customer thinking, critical thinking, and story-telling preferred
Event planning experience is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Work Style & Abilities:
Experience in MS Office preferred
Ability to work independently and the willingness to function as a part of a Team
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and complete assignments with tight deadlines
Strong oral and written communication skills are preferred
Must handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost professionalism
Time Commitment and Pay:
Required: Full-time 40hrs a week
Must maintain a consistent weekly schedule during normal business hours at a max of 8hrs per day
You must reside in Dallas, TX during the internship and work a hybrid schedule of at least 50% in office and be onsite for applicable intern events.
Program Dates: May 21st - August 9th, 2024
$22 per hour $1,000 one-time stipend paid on first paycheck
