What are the responsibilities and job description for the MA or Ophthalmic Assistant position at Southwest Eye Surgeons?
Ophthalmology private practice looking for a positive personality to add to our team. Preferred skills include but not limited to working directly with patients, checking vision, visual fields, OCT, and scheduling surgery. Demonstrates working knowledge of medical terminology, policies and procedures. General office duties and customer service skills are a must. Must have reliable transportation to travel between both offices in Surprise and Peoria three times a week. Looking for a individual that has the ability to pay attention to detail. Onsite training is available. Externship students welcome. High School diploma required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in patient intake by collecting medical history and vital signs while ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their inquiries and concerns.
- Utilize medical terminology to accurately document patient information in EMR systems.
- Support ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures, maintaining a sterile environment.
- Collaborate with front desk staff to manage appointments and maintain medical records efficiently.
- Educate patients on post-operative care following any surgery.
Job Types: Full-time, Internship
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
