What we're looking for in a Mapping Technician

To succeed as a Mapping Technician at SLEMCO, candidates must possess a strong knowledge of the Cooperative's service area, ensuring precise surveying and staking of electric distribution lines. Effective communication skills are essential, allowing you to work harmoniously with colleagues and engage positively with the public. The ability to understand and follow both written and oral instructions is critical for executing tasks accurately. A valid and insurable driving record is required, enabling you to navigate the service areas efficiently.

In addition, candidates should have a solid understanding of line construction, maintenance procedures, substation construction, and other technical aspects of electrical distribution and transmission. Knowledge & Skills required for the position are:

• Knowledge of the Cooperative's service area.
• Ability to work alone or harmoniously with others and to deal effectively with the public.
• Must be able to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Must have and maintain an insurable driving record.
• Must be knowledgeable in the areas of line construction, maintenance of lines, substation construction, and maintenance and other technical areas of electrical distribution and transmission.
