Instructional and Program Leadership
- Assist in development and implementation of an effective staff development program
- Lead and facilitate intervention process
- Assist with the development and implementation of the school improvement plan
- Ensure the district’s curriculum standards are delivered effectively
- Lead through the presence in classroom, building, and school functions
- Support coaching staff and/or evaluations
- Advocate at a district and community level for school needs
- Encourage staff to continue to grow professionally and to experiment with new approaches or strategies to teaching
- Ensure that curriculum and instruction incorporates the experiences, culture, history and perspectives of people from various cultures and backgrounds
- Foster collaboration among teachers, administrators, and other relevant parties to promote a cohesive educational experience for students
- Ensure compliance with district policies, procedures, and legal requirements related to curriculum, instruction, and professional development
- Organize and conduct regular meetings with teachers for continuing development of instructional techniques
- Work with administrators and classroom teachers to develop programs and incorporate practices and technology that help students of differing abilities and interests to achieve high standards.
- Work with administrators and teachers to develop and implement extended day and summer school programs.
- Develop and administer school programs consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping and reporting for student activities, attendance and records as required by law.
- Support the selection and adoption of instructional materials, textbooks, and media and software materials for the District.
- Student Management
- Understand and follow district policies and best practices as they relate to student discipline and communication
- Supervision of building: halls, lunch room, etc.
- Support the Development, implementation, and evaluation of student management programs and systems
- Address transportation issues when needed
- Understand special education and individual education plans to help manage behaviors
- Monitor student attendance for all students and work with staff and county to implement attendance plans for individual students
- Facilitate the implementation of the code of student code in accordance with school and system policy to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment
- Utilize student performance data and educator feedback to inform instructional practices and recommend targeted interventions
- Ensure that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies.
- Interpret, evaluate and analyze student assessment and program evaluation results for the purpose of improving instruction and student achievement in the District.
- Coordinate the implementation of effective and efficient assessment systems and data collection processes that provide a record of baseline measures and track longitudinal trends.
- Accountability and Assessment
- Organize and coordinate school assessments
- Train other staff on testing protocols
- Assist in the disaggregation of the data to be used for future instruction
- Act as a resource person to other administrative staff in the development and implementation of administrative practices, policies and procedures for the District.
- Communications
- Communicate with constituents in a timely manner
- Communicate with staff, students, parents and community partners about concerns, activities and progress of the school.
- Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
- Communicate the latest developments in curriculum and innovative instructional programs to improve student achievement.
- School Safety
- Collaborate with the administrative team to organize and evaluate drills and safety protocols
- Ensure a safe learning environment with consistent monitoring of safety protocols
- Promote a school environment that is safe and conducive to individualized instruction, cooperative curriculum development, and student learning.
- Staffing and Human Resources
- Support the coaching and/or supervision of staff
- Collaborate with administrators to supervise and evaluate teaching staff and other building employees in accordance with the school district's evaluation plan, and make recommendations regarding goals, areas needing improvement and continued employment.
- Support the coaching and evaluation of licensed and non-licensed staff and provide assistance and resource services to the District-wide evaluation of staff.
- Offer one-on-one coaching sessions to teachers based on classroom observations and data analysis, fostering continuous improvement and innovation.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of certified and classified personnel.
- Other
- Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
- Collaborate with building leadership toOrganize and manage the budgetary and financial affairs of the school consistent with school district policies.
- Support District and School Operations.
- Support the development and management of state and federal grant proposals and budgets.
- A current special education teacher’s license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education is required or the ability to obtain.
- Enrolled and within one year of completing, or recently completed a Minnesota State Certification as a Principal and/or Special Education Director.
- Motor Vehicle operator's license or ability to provide own transportation.
- Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Sixth year, doctorate, or other planned program in curriculum and instruction or educational leadership preferred.
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiating instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Knowledge of K-12 school curriculum and concepts in multiple areas, including regular and special education, as well as elementary, middle and high school levels.
- Knowledge of best practices in administration, program evaluation and staff supervision.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education, special education, individuals with disabilities, etc.
- Ability to direct the on-going instructional programs for the District, providing for innovative programs and modifications to improve the quality of instruction.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate projects, work and training related to the implementation and supervision of the K-12 instructional programs for the District.
- Ability to apply contemporary curriculum frameworks and current national and state standards for student learning.
- Ability to prepare oral or written communications, such as presentations, reports, memoranda, letters, grant proposals, curriculum documents, etc.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents, community and others contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.

Description:
Teaching & Learning Coordinator, 8 hours a day for 260 Contract Days.
Summary:
Under the leadership and support of the Executive Director and/or Program Director, the primary responsibility of this job is to assist the Program Director in the performance of various leadership responsibilities; work collaboratively to provide high-quality educational programs for all students; support building operations; assist in instructional leadership including onboarding and ongoing coaching and support for new staff; assist in student behavior management; and support the coaching and/or supervision of staff within the building.
