The Work You'll Do

- Evangelizing and implementing tools and best practices that amplify the productivity and decision-making capability of product teams
- Enable data-driven decisions and storytelling by collating and making available market and product analytics for product teams and stakeholders
- Program-managing critical product initiatives through a small team of program / project managers
More Specifically, You Will
- Product Management Tools and Best Practices: Lead the continuous improvement, evaluation, implementation, adoption, and evangelism of tools, methodologies, and frameworks that empower product teams to drive innovation and efficiency. This includes onboarding new tools, coaching teams on advanced techniques, and close partnership with Engineering operations to ensure consistent application of best practices across all teams.
- Scaling Knowledge and Skills: Develop and deliver structured onboarding programs and ongoing training for product managers to enhance their proficiency in discovery, customer research, and other advanced product management disciplines.
- Product Management Cadences: Establish and manage foundational product management cadences such as product steering groups, product launch processes, and other essential frameworks to ensure structured and efficient product operations. Facilitate communication and collaboration between different teams to ensure alignment around product goals.
- Streamlining Processes: Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce operational bottlenecks, and increase the overall effectiveness of product teams.
- Data & Metrics Insights Enablement: Work closely with data teams to ensure self-service analytics are available to product teams to make data-informed decisions. Advocate for a single source of truth and standardize KPIs on product usage, performance, financials, and customer sentiment across the product portfolio.
- Customer Feedback and Continuous Improvement: Establish a framework for feedback loops to capture lessons learned from each product lifecycle phase, using these insights to refine processes, tools, and training programs continuously. Lead the creation and deployment of retrospective frameworks and regular audits of product operations, identifying areas of improvement and implementing actionable changes.
- Program Management: Lead small team of program / project managers to oversee critical product initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and delivering within scope, on time, and on budget. For example, key product migrations and portfolio simplification.
- Process and Change Management Leadership: Lead change management initiatives to streamline product development, release processes, and GTM launch success. With Product Managers, establish clear success criteria for initiatives and track progress against these goals across diverse product lines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster a culture of collaboration across product, engineering, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to ensure seamless product development and launch processes. Act as the cross-functional liaison for GTM alignment.
- Executive Engagement and Stakeholder Communication: Act as a key point of contact for product operations, ensuring effective communication and alignment with key stakeholders and executive leadership. Establish reporting content and cadence to communicate the value and progress of operational initiatives to different audiences across Sovos.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and coach a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, professional growth, and accountability.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
- 10 years of experience in product, product operations, program management, or related roles within the enterprise software industry.
- 5 years of people and team management experience in a similar function
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale product initiatives.
- Proven experience evaluating and implementing product management tools and driving successful adoption across teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale change management initiatives across matrixed organizations.
- Track record of mentoring and coaching product management teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire
