What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of IT position at Spacesaver?
Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing and Business Development, Spacesaver’s Director of IT plans, organizes, and directs corporate wide information services related to all computer and network hardware, software applications, telephone, and data management systems.
The Director of IT is an active member of Spacesaver’s Management Team and works with all functional areas in the development and implementation of information systems to best meet departmental needs within established corporate goals/ objectives to ensure adequate computer resources are available to support the needs of the business.
Required Skills
The ideal candidate will have experience and/or deep knowledge of Business Intelligence, API, development, helpdesk, and Cybersecurity.
- Own and lead IT strategic and operational initiatives to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT projects, and coordinate the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization.
- Establishes, maintains, and reviews cybersecurity criteria and policies in accordance with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) standards.
- Assesses the company’s current and future information systems needs, establishes corporate-wide priorities, and develops recommendations and budget proposals. Establishes standards, policies, and procedures for Spacesaver’s information systems.
- Trains staff in work procedures; participates in selection processes and evaluates the work of assigned staff.
- Manages and develops talented IT professionals, delegating significant and accountable responsibilities to team members, while meeting the greater needs of the business.
- Prioritizes and supervises the work of assigned professional and technical support staff.
- Develops and maintains an appropriate IT organizational structure, goals, and operating procedures that support the needs of the business.
- Consults with internal departments to determine information management needs and to define new system and/or user application requirements; evaluates applications and systems.
- Drives, in collaboration with the assigned Project Manager, software development and migration projects, ensuring a successful launch with minimal business disruption.
- Contributes to strategic and operational decisions as a member of the senior management team and coordinates consultation with stakeholders to define business/systems requirements for technology/operational implementations.
- Reviews and approves corporate requests for hardware, software, and services.
- Negotiates a wide array of technology services and contracts across multiple IT vendors.
- Directs development and execution of an enterprise-wide security, disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
- Actively participates in the design, development, maintenance and user support of Spacesaver’s custom software applications, website, and intranet.
- Manages the operation and maintenance of Spacesaver’s onsite and cloud infrastructure.
- Maintains awareness of current advances in technology as they relate to Spacesaver’s needs and objectives.
Required Experience
- 7-10 years of responsible, professional experience in the development and analysis of information systems and applications.
- 5 years of managing IT teams.
