What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Sponsored Project Coordinator position at Sparks Group?
Sparks Group has teamed with a globally recognized higher education client who is searching for a qualified and motivated Manager of Sponsored Projects. This person will lead and oversee a team responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of sponsored proposals and awards. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure timely and compliant execution of sponsored projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of sponsored project coordinators, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluation.
- Process Improvement to include identify trends, challenges and opportunities for process improvement within the team.
- Compliance to ensure adherence to institutional and sponsor guidelines and regulations for all sponsored project activities.
- Serve as a liaison between the sponsored projects team and internal stakeholders.
- Assign sponsor codes to incoming records and establish new codes as needed.
- Record Retention to include managing the sponsored project record retention process, ensuring timely disposition of records.
- Data Validation and analysis, oversee the validation and review of administrative information in proposal, contract, and award records.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- 4 years of experience in grants and sponsored research administration
- Knowledge of sponsored project administration, research compliance, and regulatory guidelines
- Proficiency in electronic record-keeping systems, Microsoft Office Suite and large ERPs like Cayuse, eResearch, WorkDay, etc. Business Intelligence software like Power BI and/or Tableau a strong plus
