What You Will Do:
Network Segmentation & Security:
- Assist senior engineers in developing and implementing network and application segmentation strategies aligned with security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Support the design and configuration of VLANs, subnets, and access control lists (ACLs) to enforce segmentation policies.
- Help implement micro-segmentation solutions to protect critical assets, applications, and sensitive data.
- Work with the firewall team to optimize rules and policies, ensuring effective security enforcement.
Infrastructure & Risk Management:
- Utilize knowledge of TCP/IP, IOS, multiple routing protocols, wireless protocols (LWAPP), VPN, perimeter security, and Layer 3 content switching to support segmentation initiatives.
- Monitor network traffic for potential security breaches and suspicious activity.
- Assist in conducting security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate segmentation gaps.
Access Control & Collaboration:
- Help manage and enforce access controls within network and application segments, ensuring adherence to the principle of least privilege.
- Work closely with Network Infrastructure, Server Services, Firewall Team, and IT Security to support segmentation requirements and security objectives.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network segmentation designs, configurations, and procedures.
What You Bring to the Team:
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of network engineering experience.
- Certifications: CCNA required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience: 5-7 years of IT experience, preferably in a healthcare or enterprise environment.
- Certifications: CCNP preferred.
