What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Assistant position at Spartanburg Vision?
The Office Assistant will perform the necessary administrative responsibilities needed to create a smooth check-in/out experience for patients. They will also be trained to properly fit eye-wear to meet patient's needs as well as train patients how to insert and remove contacts. There is also a possibility of floating between offices as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone)
- Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
- Answer phones (both external and internal); assure prompt, courteous service at all times
- Double check insurance authorizations to ensure completion
- Knowledge of common fees charged for common visits
- Check out patients and collect correct payments
- Scan patient documents
- Operate manual lensometer, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, OCT as needed
- Follow scripting for annual supplies of contacts and lens upgrades
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
- General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by manager
