SpecChem manufactures specialty concrete chemicals, cementitious repair products, and epoxies throughout the United States in its five manufacturing facilities. SpecChem supplies and services the concrete distributor network with quality construction products that provide performance and value to the industry.
The Human Resources/Recruiting Specialist position is a critical member of our corporate team located in the Crossroads district of downtown Kansas City, MO. Responsibilities include providing HR and Recruiting support to all locations and individuals across the entire company.
Summary/Objective: The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for recruiting associates at our six manufacturing plants as well as supporting HR functions, such as associate relations, recognition programs, training, and culture. This position is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing exemplary internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence.

Essential Functions:
- Responsible for managing the entire recruitment life cycle of all manufacturing plant positions.
- Select the most qualified candidates, conduct pre-screens, schedule, and conduct interviews.
- Oversee onboarding, orientation, specific training and registrations for new hires.
- Ensure new hire documents are completed and processed.
- Explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, and standards to new and existing associates and managers.
- Address employment relations issues, such as work complaints and the corrective action process.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
- Work with HR Director on HR policies, practices and programs to ensure continuing quality improvement and effectiveness
- Develop and implement company sponsored events to maintain positive associate relations and promote a high level of associate morale
- Assist with Health and Safety function by maintaining and implementing programs and training to monitor and control risks and losses
- Build positive working relationships with staff and outside vendors
- Perform miscellaneous projects as requested by senior management and ownership team
- Other duties as dictated by business need

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field and 2 years of relevant professional experience.
