OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education and the Coordinator of Specialized Programs, the Special Education Tech provides comprehensive clerical support while delivering quality training and professional development for Special Education instructional assistants in our RISE and SOAR programs. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and reliability of departmental processes while facilitating effective communication within the district and with external stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Special Education instructional assistant - Previous related work experience desired for a clerical role
- Moderate proficiency in typing with good accuracy
- Ability to work well with diverse groups of people; good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines with minimum supervision
- Computer proficiency, including basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc)
- Knowledge of school district policies and procedures beneficial
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide training and professional development for Special Education instructional assistants
Perform secretarial functions such as typing, filing, and recordkeeping for assigned personnel - Respond to inquiries from various stakeholders to communicate procedures and information
- Collaborate with the administration to create a professional development curriculum
- Compile and prepare reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
- Coordinate activities and schedule appointments and meetings for assigned personnel
- Maintain department/program files and records up-to-date
- Perform general clerical tasks to support instructional coaches and administration
- Regular and on-time attendance required
- Marginal Duties:
- Assist other personnel as required to support them in their work activities

- May lift, pull, push, or carry items
- May stand for prolonged periods
- May move lightweight furniture
- May require strength to push/pull 30-35 lbs
