General Description:
The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting general ledger functions, and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions. This role requires adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records, ensuring proper account coding and completeness.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts within the ERP system.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures, including account analysis, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, audits, and reports as required.
- Analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and efficiently resolve issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address financial inquiries and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the cost accountant to ensure accurate cost data reflection in the general ledger and assist with variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and process improvement initiatives.
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and working knowledge of ERP software.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in GAAP and general ledger accounting will be considered.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounts payable and general ledger accounting
