Responsibilities:
1. Performs initial and on-going assessments of clients' needs, motivations, and backgrounds; prepares substance use bio-psychosocial assessment summaries with a diagnostic rationale and diagnosis consistent with the DSM V.
2. Responsible for maintaining original, accurate and up-to-date case records in a timely and thorough manner on each client consistent with program policy and the 65D-30, F.A.C.
3. Develop individualized treatment plans upon admission and reviews every thirty days (30 days).
4. Monitoring, evaluating, and recording client progress with that of on-going treatment goals. Enter weekly group and individual counseling notes.
5. Conduct observed urinalysis.
6. Report absences daily for scheduled services to the program supervisor.
7. Responsible for completing and turning in on time all required client documentation to the Program Director (this includes closed files, census rosters and referral source monthly reports) so that they may be reviewed and submitted by the 5th day of each month.
8. To reduce the substance, use and relapse of program participants by providing individual and group counseling.
9. Examine issues with participant including but not limited to, substance use, trauma, domestic violence, anger management, careers, depression, relationships, LGBTQ issues, self-image, stress and suicide.
10. Ensure compliance with delivering only Evidenced Based Practices and approved program group counseling curriculum.
11. Prepare participant for program completion by means of a written transition plan.
12. Ensure compliance with all appropriate professional standards, outcomes, licensing and certification requirements, and the funders’ conditions for the delivery of program and clinical services
13. Responsible for conforming to all codes of ethics established regarding performance of duty, client interaction and confidentiality, etc.
14. Establish and maintain good rapport and effective working relationships with families, visitors, partner providers and other employees
15. Report to the Florida Abuse Registry any and all suspected cases of abuse, neglect or exploitation as required by D.O.P. #150-1.
16. May be subpoenaed to appear and testify in court.
17. Responsible for providing referrals to program participants, or families to community resources.
18. Responsible for reporting to staff supervisor all pertinent information that would serve in the client's and/or agency's best interest. Required to complete incident reports within one (1) hour.
19. Must attend all weekly staff and supervision meetings and be able to present case staffing’s.
20. Must familiarize self with agency policies and procedures located on the agency network.
21. Responsible for assisting in maintaining the overall cleanliness, safety, security, repairs and upkeep of the facility in which the program operates.
22. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends to provide coverage between the hours of 8am and 8pm.
23. May be required to drive your personal vehicle for meetings, appointments, conferences, errands, etc.
24. Responsible for submitting purchase orders for supplies.
25. Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. A thorough knowledge of substance use and mental health counseling techniques.
2. A thorough knowledge of group dynamics and the required skills to effectively facilitate group therapy.
3. Knowledge of substance use counseling and treatment principles, practices, and techniques.
4. Knowledge of current social, economic, and health problems of individuals with substance use problems.
5. Understanding of cultural awareness and sensitivity.
6. Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of human behavior.
7. An ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays if necessary.
8. An ability to use initiative and creativity in effective problem solving.
9. Ability to work with clients of complex needs and from diverse populations.
10. Must be punctual and complete all assignments by assigned deadlines.
11. Good organizational skills.
12. Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team.
13. Able to work collaboratively with multiple health and criminal justice professionals using tact, diplomacy, and discipline.
14. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
15. Be willing to submit to random drug testing.
Minimum Education, Experience and/or Training:
1. A Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
Or
2. A Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution in a related field with minimum Three (3) years work experience in the substance use treatment field preferred.
and
3. Certification as a Certified Addiction Processional (CAP) or Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJAP) in good standing with the Florida Certification Board.
Or
4. Be licensed or registered as an intern as a Mental Health Counselor or Clinical Social Worker and be in good standing with the Florida Department of Health.
Must pass a required level 2 background screening every five (5) years.
Must maintain a Valid Florida Driver’s License and personal automobile insurance.
Complete twenty (20) hours of state mandated training requirements detailed in the Florida Administrative Code 65D-30 each fiscal year.
