What are the responsibilities and job description for the Order Processing Specialist I position at Specialty Coating Systems?
Perform ERP transactions and generate all necessary documentation required to receive customer parts, prepare them for processing, and ship finished goods to SCS customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- · Adhere to plant and corporate safety policies.
- · Assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.
- · Compile and assign job packet (customer process/runsheet/etc) to incoming product.
- · Coordinates international shipments, overnight shipments,
- · Create packing slips, invoices, shipping labels, certificates of compliance, air bills, and export papers.
- · Ensure high quality and accuracy of all documents leaving the facility.
- · Follows processes, work instructions, MSP’s and other written and/or verbal instructions.
- · Identify and help resolve discrepancies between receipts and documentation.
- · Perform transactions in shipping portals, work with couriers to arrange shipments.
- · Performs data entry into various business systems, such as MRP/ERP systems and / or quality management systems.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- · Assures shipping counts match packing documents and assists in resolving any discrepancies.
- · Identify, receive, stock, distribute purchased parts after receipt.
- · Keeps shipping software programs up to date.
- · Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
- · Pack customer goods according to customer expectations.
- · Receives, unpacks, and stores/delivers customer product.
- · Recognize gross defects in customer product.
- · Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex problems.
- · Verifies proper count and content of deliveries against packing slip.
- · Work with S&R Clerk to ensure parts are received & processed correctly
- · May be responsible for the proper packaging, paperwork preparation, and shipment transactions for HazMat shipments following DOT and FAA regulations. May be required to maintain certification for HazMat shipping.
- · May help expedite orders; may load/unload trucks manually or with powered lift / forklift.
- · May maintain inventory of shipping and packaging materials and supplies.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and minimum three years related experience or an associate’s degree and one year related experience.
BASIC SKILLS:
· Able to accurately complete standard forms and spreadsheets compliant to quality procedures.
· Able to clearly communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
· Able to comprehend basic written and verbal instructions.
· Able to distinguish between the colors of red, orange, yellow, blue, green and violet.
· Able to perform basic math functions.
· Able to read at a 20/20 visual acuity using a Jaeger eye chart (near vision) with or without vision correction. Able to read No. 1 at 14” distance, or No. 2 at 20” distance, or No. 3 at 24” distance.
· Able to solve problems and make decisions quickly. Rapidly analyze the downstream impact of such decisions, and know when to seek advice/guidance from others.
· Able to speak, read and write grammatically correct English.
· Able to type efficiently and accurately
· Excels in high paced environment where daily deadlines must be met.
· High degree of manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination.
· Proficient in MSWord, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
· Well organized and detail oriented.
· Demonstrates a high level of accuracy when compiling or recording data and composing reports.
· Able to type a minimum of 35 WPM.
