This position's starting pay is: $33.44/hr.
Description:
- We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lab Operations Specialist I to temporarily join our Disease Area X Operations team, supporting the dynamic operations of our department within our team.
- The successful candidate will be a critical contact within the organization to support lab operations and organizational matters, thereby enabling the development of novel drug targets and new therapeutics.
- This role requires organizational skills and the ability to handle a variety of tasks, allowing for collaboration with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a diverse range of lab-related activities, in coordination with the local Head of Operations
- Monitor lab consumable inventories, coordinating with internal and external vendors for replenishment
- Ensure all labs are aligned with Health Safety & Environmental regulations, Business Continuity programs and Sustainability initiatives
- Support on- and off-boarding tasks within the Cambridge organization. This includes supporting starters/leavers and corresponding managers, providing Welcome/Off-boarding information and updating databases
- Contribute to and support departmental communications and culture initiatives. Including intra-departmental communication platforms (e.g. Teams, SharePoint), in-person and virtual events
- Active participation in the Biomedical Research Lab Operations community.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years’ lab experience
- Prior lab operations experience is a plus.
- Sound understanding of lab safety rules and best practices.
- Superior organizational and time management qualities, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication and ability to work collaboratively in a high-performing team environment.
- Proficient in digital literacy including MS Office and Teams
