What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seed Processing Operator position at Spherion?
Job Title: Seed Processing Operator
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Seed Processing Operator to join our team.
The ideal candidate will work closely with the Conditioning Supervisor and Plant Operations Manager to ensure that all conditioning runs meet customer quality requirements, while also attempting to maximize the total number of units bagged from each run.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform work activities safely
- Accurately mix seed treatment chemicals to ensure proper seed coverage
- Utilize computers to record and locate information as needed
- Operate seed conditioning equipment according to instructions, including taking and documenting quality checks and activity as required
- Apply appropriate tags and/or labels to seed packages as applicable
- Accurate bagged seed inventory counts
- Thoroughly clean all equipment between conditioning runs in order to maintain product integrity
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area
- Some forklift operations as need
Requirements:
- 1-4 years of experience in a warehouse setting with knowledge of seed treating equipment
- Ability to lift and stack materials up to 68 lbs. for extended periods of time
- Must be able to operate machinery
- Must be able to read/write in English
- BASIC computer skills
- Ability to work overtime
Work Environment:
Variety of shifts available, including first shift (7am-3:30pm) and second shift (3pm-midnight)
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
