What are the responsibilities and job description for the Children, Youth, and Family Ministries Coordinator position at Spirit of Grace Church - River Falls?
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Children, Youth, and Family Ministries Coordinatorwill plan and lead the ministries of Spirit of Grace for our children, youth, and families, supporting their spiritual growth and connecting them with the entire congregation.
REPORTING: TheChildren, Youth, and Family Ministries Coordinator is supervised/coached by the pastor and by the Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC). A formal performance evaluation will be done annually by the pastor and by the Children, Youth, and Family Ministries Coordinator SPRC liaison. More frequent meetings can be requested by the employee, supervisor or liaison. A summary of the evaluation will be shared with the SPRC. Supervision is in compliance with the Employee Policy and Procedures manual of the Spirit of Grace Church.
DUTIES Following are the central responsibilities of this position:
- Assist in assessing the needs and potential of both current and new programs.
- Select and implement curricula and other materials for children and youth education.
- Communicate with families, congregation, staff, and relevant committees about activities for children, youth and families using multiple channels, including social media.
- Promote volunteerism with the congregation for their participation in the activities and programs that Spirit of Grace offers children, youth and families.
- Support intergenerational activities, including Sunday worship.
- Follow and coordinate Safer Sanctuary protocols.
CONFIDENTIALITY:
The Children, Youth, and Family Ministries Coordinator works closely with the pastor and members of the church, dealing with the details of both the church and personal lives. Trust is an essential element of this position. The Children, Youth, and Family Ministries Coordinator must be capable of keeping personal information confidential unless expressly told otherwise.
TIME REQUIREMENTS:
This position will require 40-60 hours a month (10-15 hours a week), including Sunday morning worship.
TRAINING AND RESOURCES:
Dialog, discernment, spiritual guidance and support are shared through the pastor and the Staff Parish Relations Committee. Professional development funds are available.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND GIFTS:
- Demonstrate a growing spiritual life and a love for children and youth. Christian Education experience is desirable.
- Understand and implement developmentally appropriate practices for children and youth.
- Possess good organizational and time management skills.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
