POSITION
HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR
JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resource (HR) Administrator is an integral part of the communication and development across all departments within the company. The HR Administrator will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, maintaining regulatory compliance, and enforcing company policies and practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support, report to, and be directed by the Administrative Director in his/her duties.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include, but is not limited to, safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and certifications.
- Manages the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of qualified job applicants.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Assist with the development and documentation of new human resources processes and procedures that allow for the transparent flow of communication between any departments of the company.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior HR or Administration Experience
- Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with applicants, employees, supervisors, and external parties.
- Professionalism and Ethical Conduct: Ability to use a high level of discretion, demonstrate integrity, accountability, and respect when communicating and dealing with personal information.
- Organizational Skills: Capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with a high level of accuracy.
- Attention to Detail: Ensures all documentation and processes comply with regulations and company policies.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Proficient in identifying issues, analyzing situations, and implementing solutions.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to manage relationships at all levels within the organization.
- Critical Thinking and Decision Making: Uses sound judgement when addressing employee concerns or escalating issues appropriately.
- Time Management: Effectively prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines and business needs.
- Knowledge of Employment Laws: Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Training & Development: Capable of organizing and documenting training and continuing education programs.
- Adaptability and Willingness to Learn: Flexible in handling changes in processes, technology, and business needs. Ability to quickly grasp new processes, technologies, and company policies.
- Full-time, on-site position.
- May be required to travel for trade shows, training events, and/or industry or company events.
- May be required to work overtime and/or extended hours depending on business needs.
- Physical requirements may include sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and kneeling for up to and including 8 hours.
- Vision to view printed and electronic text and graphics.
- Ability to access information on computers, tablets, and electronics.
- Ability to handle and manipulate items with hands and/or fingers up to and including 8 hours.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiar with HRIS software systems, such as ADP, to facilitate job duties.
