What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at Spooky Nook Sports?
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for developing and maintaining well-planned human resources projects and meeting the day-to-day human resources needs of Spooky Nook Sports. This position supervises the employee relations, performance management, hiring, onboarding, data entry, and all other personnel record management throughout the employee life cycle. This position is a key member of the operational team and develops relationships with managers at the Manheim location of Spooky Nook Sports, The Warehouse Hotel, and Forklift and Palate Restaurant.
NOTE: Because this position will involve routine interaction with children, all candidates must successfully obtain the following clearances PRIOR to beginning employment:
- PA State Police criminal history record,
- PA Child Abuse Clearance, and
- FBI Fingerprint-based criminal history clearance.

Essential Job Functions
- Provide consultation on employee relations related topics in a wide range of human resources functional areas
- Administer the team member performance plan ensuring completeness and effectiveness of the program
- Apply, edit, and create human resources policies and SOPs that benefit team members and the organization
- Manage several online HR related platforms for the Manheim location including UKG Pro and Paylocity
- Coordinate special events and professional development events hosted by the HR team
- Ensure location complies with all state and federal wage and hour laws
- Learn and understand the Company benefit offerings and guide team members through the benefit selection process
- Communicate important information to the team members of the Company in a variety of methods including in person and through electronic communication
- Create and manage comprehensive reports for team leaders throughout the organization on a variety of topics
- Conduct investigations and attend discipline proceedings
- Support safety and health initiatives such as the team member Safety Committee and OSHA reporting
- Collaborate with managers to identify staffing needs
- Assist with job requisitions on the Company HRIS ensuring the descriptions are accurate and the listings are current
- Complete data entry into a variety of HRIS systems and audit the accuracy of the data in these systems on a regular basis
- All other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Human Resources role
- Exceptional interpersonal skills; demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude towards guests and fellow team members. Exhibits a respectful, professional demeanor.
- Adept in creative problem-solving; develops innovative solutions for common issues
- Highly motivated, self-starting and resourceful

- Language skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent knowledge of the English language; including the ability to read and interpret written information and speak and understand verbal communication

- Dependable transportation to and from work
- Authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- PHR/SHRM-CP Certification
- Previous experience using an HRIS system such as UKG Pro/Paylocity
- Employee record management experience

Working Conditions
- Work environment: Upbeat, high-energy sports and event complex with heavy foot traffic and frequent large crowds. This position will primarily work in an office environment.
- Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to perform physical activity that includes moving about the work area, talking, hearing, standing, and sitting for long periods of time while working on a computer. He or she will frequently be required to bend, reach, lift, push and pull. The team member will be occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. He or she is required to have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Lifting requirements: The team member will be required to lift, push, pull, lower and/or move up to 25 lbs. regularly.
- Noise Level: The noise level in this environment is typically quiet.
