The Tradeshow & Events Manager will be responsible for establishing and advancing our company-wide event strategy, rationalizing the current suite of events, developing standardized processes, and institutionalizing best practices. This role will work closely with Marketing Communications, Product Marketing, Professional Education, Sales, Sales Training, Research and Development and Compliance teams as well as with a variety of external Society and marketing partners.
Primary Responsibilities
- Elevates and promotes the SPRINT PNS brand by securing, leveraging, and optimizing, event sponsorships and promotional opportunities at shows/events, ensuring consistency in branding, key messaging, and audience experience at all society and industry tradeshows/events/webinars.
- Partner closely with Marketing and Sales Leadership in the development and execution of tradeshow/event strategies and society relations.
- Plans, leads, and oversees all end-to-end operations for all National society/tradeshow events working collaboratively with internal cross-functional teams - Marketing, R&D, Education, Sales as well as with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL’s), agency/creative/consultants and other external event partners.
- Develops, plans, and supervises the execution of all external regional tradeshow and brand awareness events.
- Proactively manage annual tradeshow and events calendar.
- Work closely with Sales Training, Executive Admin, Brand/Marketing Leadership on internal events
- Collaborates with brand and communications team to oversee the design and development of event-related marketing campaigns.
- Oversee event timelines and planning, including event logistics, contracts, financial management, fabrication/graphic/production, vendor timelines and creative deliverables.
- Manage vendor activity coordination and relationships, ensuring effective communications, logistics, quotes/POs/deposits, troubleshooting, addressing issues as they arise, etc.
- Manage RFP/venue sourcing, negotiations for complex contracts, AV and technical production and schedule management. Implement procedures for event planning and manage event registration processes, including project management of third-party vendors.
- Direct management responsibility of the Tradeshow & Events Coordinator.
- Provide leadership and work direction to create a focused, results-driven, and passionate team.
- Motivate, mentor, and develop the skills and expertise of the team.
- Research new industry tradeshows/meetings and the latest trends. Make recommendations on new show tools/technology to enhance and promote SPRINT at each event.
- Partner with marketing and sales operations to ensure optimal lead follow-up processes are in place.
- Other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with event management and marketing in a business to business (B2B) environment.
- Proven experience and desire to build and execute events from start to finish.
- Solid understanding of marketing communications strategies and digital executions to drive awareness and engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience performing job in a compliance/quality system environment.
- Strong project and budget management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment yet be independently productive.
- Strong verbal, oral, and written communication skills; with ability to influence, motivate and lead partners and participants.
- Adaptable, flexible, agile mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Time management and attention to detail is essential.
- Experience within medical device, pharmaceutical, life science or healthcare is strongly preferred.
- Experience with marketing automation and sales enablement tools (Pardot/Salesforce).
- Ability and willingness to “get the job done”, allowing for flexible and extended hours, depending upon the project needs.
- Small office environment (does own documentation and interacts directly with others in virtually all situations).
- Ability to travel to tradeshows and events required, which will include weekends. Travel will vary seasonally based on event/tradeshow calendar, up to 40% during busy season.
