Description
Shift: Monday-Friday (8:30a-4:30p)
The File Clerk will perform routine filing, usually of material that has already been classified or locates or assists in locating filed material. May perform incidental clerical duties.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Files various documents according to an established system.
- Performs incidental clerical duties.
- Provides backup relief for a variety of clerical positions (i.e. switchboard, data entry, billing, production).
- May process incoming and outgoing mail.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- The minimum education required for this position is High School Diploma or equivalent.
- The minimum related language skills required for this position is the ability to read, and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to read, interpret and create simple correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations.
- This position requires an ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to computer rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
- This position requires the incumbent to regularly utilize written and verbal communication skills, including active listening.
- Generally, performs single-function tasks that tend to be of moderate size and scope.
- This position requires the incumbent to grasp objects utilizing manual dexterity including hand/finger coordination and the utilization of color vision. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- This position requires the incumbent to experience periods of prolonged sitting and to regularly stand, walk, carry, climb, bend, reach, and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
- Environment is typically general office, though the incumbent may spend short periods in the manufacturing environments with exposure including but not limited to dust, dirt, high noise levels and variations in temperature. Occasional exposure to one or more unpleasant or hazardous conditions 6% to 20% of the time.
