Job Summary
A HVAC and Plumbing Engineer is sought to work on a diverse range of building configurations. Under general supervision, the ideal candidate will be capable of performing all aspects of conventional design engineering, analysis, and studies on new and existing structures.
Key Responsibilities
The Mechanical Buildings Design Group provides HVAC and plumbing solutions for global projects. The Mechanical Engineer Level 5 is responsible for the engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems in various types of facilities. The HVAC Team's activities include:
- Design and Construction: Project Delivery Methods: Traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build.
- Facility Types: Power Generation buildings, Substations, Oil & Gas structures, Water Treatment, and Energy Storage buildings.
- Systems: HVAC and Plumbing.
- Areas: Power Generation Hall, Administrative, Warehouse, Maintenance, Workshop, Laboratory, Chemical Storage & Handling, Electrical Distribution Center, Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear, Pump Areas, Engine Generator, Blowers/Air Compressors, Wastewater treatment building, and Flammable & Combustible Liquids Storage.
- Studies: Energy Audit/Efficiency: Engineering studies, system performance reviews, and energy compliance calculations.
- Code Review/Application: Facility review for code compliance.
- Sustainable Design/LEED: Application of sustainable strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
Self-motivated, problem-solving, excellent written communication, results-driven, quality-focused, and strong listening skills are essential. Intermediate knowledge of engineering design principles and the following applicable design guides and standards related to HVAC and plumbing system design is required, including basic knowledge of:
- International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes
- ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards
- ASPE design handbooks
- SMACNA Standards
- NFPA standards
- Computer-generated HVAC heat loads, energy modeling, and HVAC equipment sizing
- Technical submittal reviewing process and bid reviewing process
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Bluebeam Revu
- Revit 3D Modeling
- LEED AP certification with experience obtaining LEED certification for industrial buildings.
- Extensive experience with large-scale water-cooled chillers is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 7 years of related work experience.
Certifications
Most positions, depending on the nature of work performed, will typically require incumbents to have professional registration or licensure in their designated home office country or be in active pursuit of such registration.
