Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Lorton, VA
Duration: 12 Months
Job Description:
Assists plant mechanic II and IIIs in performing preventive, corrective, and emergency mechanical maintenance repairs.
Inspects, repairs or replaces specialized Wastewater plant equipment.
Performs corrective repairs to equipment.
Emergency repairs may be necessary after normal working hours to maintain 24/7 continuous operation of the wastewater treatment plant.
Performs routine preventative maintenance, lubricates, inspects, and service mechanical equipment in accordance with preventive maintenance schedule.
Assists in documenting maintenance records, work activities performed, material, lubricants, fluids used, etc. Maintains cleanliness and order in the maintenance shop area and plant work sites.
Effectively communicates with Operations, Safety, Administration, peers and supervisors.
Engages in safe working practices and complies with safety policy, programs, and guidelines; reports unsafe working conditions and complies with safety manual directives.
Education
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Required skills
Basic knowledge of the methods, tools, and equipment used in machinal maintenance and repair work.
Ability to use hand and power tools skillfully, efficiently and safely.
Ability to read, understand and follow manufactures’ service and repair manuals.
Ability to keep records and write work-related reports.
Ability to use computer for E-mail and “Word” text composition.
