What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Principal position at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System, Inc?
The High School Principal works collaboratively with System leaders and campus staff to ensure fulfillment of the mission of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System, while also providing instructional and faith leadership for this Catholic, learning community.

- Plan, develop and promote quality Catholic high school education by initiating and overseeing prayer, liturgy, theology class, campus ministry and service at the campus and in the community
Academic Excellence
- Oversee interviewing and hiring process for new faculty and staff in collaboration with Superintendent and Human Resources
- Organize and direct school personnel including teachers, support staff and chaplain
- Facilitate campus specific professional development and training for employees
- Supervise and coach faculty in accordance with Danielson’s Framework for Teaching
- Oversee instructional activities to maximize teaching and student learning in Grades 9-12
- Collaborate with System leadership and campus leaders to ensure growth of our students in a safe environment
- Manage the post-secondary preparation of all high school students in collaboration with the Associate Principal, school counselors and faculty
- Support effective and innovative integration of technology across the curriculum
- Oversee the organization, analysis and dissemination of academic data to faculty to monitor student growth and curriculum implementation– including: PreACT, ACT and AP data
- Work collaboratively with Director of Learning Services, Learning Specialists, EL Teacher, School Counselors, Technology team and other System leaders in meetings the needs of faculty, staff, students and families
Leadership
- Work collaboratively with System leadership and campus staff to fulfill the mission of Xavier System
- Promote and maintain strong Catholic educational leadership by serving as a member of the Senior Leadership Team
- Work collaboratively with families to ensure student growth, success and well-being of all students
- Communicate effectively with employees families to ensure operational vitality of the campus
- Direct or attend school, diocesan and parent meetings and other professional and co-curricular activities as assigned.
Campus Management
- Oversee campus operations to ensure a safe learning environment and effective use of human and financial resources
- Manage school safety plan and all safety protocols and procedures including TECIP/OASIS process
- Collaborate with Vice President of Finance and Administration in designing and managing campus budget
- Collaborate with Vice President of Admissions in the recruitment of new students and families
- Collaborate with Vice President of Advancement to support all advancement activities and events
- Supervise XHS Athletic Director to ensure effective administration of the athletic program
