Description
The Wisconsin Rapids Public School (WRPS) District is accepting applications for the position of Associate Principal at Lincoln High School located at 1801 16th Street South in Wisconsin Rapids. The Associate Principal serves collaboratively as part of a four-member leadership team (one Principal and three Associate Principals).
Lincoln High School (LHS) serves grades 9-12, and the school has experienced some exciting changes in recent years with robust facility updates and enhancements made! The school serves a student population of approximately 1,350. LHS offers a comprehensive curriculum in the core content areas, and provides a great variety of courses for students with interest in the areas of Agriculture, Art, Music, Business, Computer Science, Technology & Engineering, World Languages, Health Occupations and much more. Numerous Advanced Placement (AP) offerings and dual college credit courses as well as transcripted coursework through our local area technical college provide a rich experience for students attending Lincoln. Students have an opportunity to become involved in 21 interscholastic sports, and there are more than 50 co-curricular activities and clubs for our diverse student body to become involved in.
The Associate Principal provides shared instructional leadership with a solid focus on student learning as well as supervision and evaluation of both professional and support staff members. The ability to set educational goals and define teacher roles which reflect the educational objectives of the District is important for success in this position. The Associate Principal works proactively to understand student/staff needs and facilitates behavioral interventions and discipline. Additional focus for the position includes maintaining a safe, supportive school climate as well as the effective use of resources and efficiency in daily operations.
The position requires an advanced degree in educational administration (Master’s or higher) with an emphasis in school administration, supervision, school business administration, curriculum educational measurement, personnel administration, and school law, plus a minimum of three years teaching experience and leadership in high school level and/or district level roles. A valid Wisconsin teaching and a principal license (#51) is required.
Ideal candidates will be well organized and have strong knowledge/expertise of student behavior and motivation. Skill in being a flexible, approachable problem solver lends itself to success in this position. The successful candidate will have demonstrated sound judgment, social competency, self-confidence, emotional maturity, initiative, enthusiasm and resourcefulness, and be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, staff, parents, and members of the community.
