Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointments, cancellations, and rescheduling.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Handle insurance verification and billing inquiries to facilitate smooth transactions.
- Provide clerical support, including filing, data entry, and maintaining organized patient files.
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks as needed, ensuring efficient office operations.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, or Dentrix for patient management.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to streamline communication and improve patient care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical receptionist or similar administrative role is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical records management and medical billing processes.
- Proficient in insurance verification procedures and handling related inquiries.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing clerical tasks.
- Experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Dentrix) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
- Knowledge of medical coding is advantageous but not required.
